958.COM was inspired by the The Million Dollar Homepage started by Alex Tew. I don't plan to make $1,000,000 like Alex. In fact this website has been artificially capped at $958,000 and even that amount would be beyond my wildest dreams if I ever reach that figure.
The basic idea for 958.com was to have a 3 digit domain that people would remember and have a reason to remember it. With plenty of copycat sites all shooting for a million dollars or nice rounded numbers like 100,000 I decided that it would be unique to have a website with an irregular number like 958. Also it doesn't hurt that the domain name is extremely short compared to most of the other copycat sites out there. Having arrived at the idea of a 3 digit domain website offering 958,000 pixels, the rest as they say is history. And anyone can be a part of that history by adding their pixel ad. :)
